On Sat. August 30th – we are excited to present an art-making and art-sharing session with 1st generation Korean elders who have participated in our oral history project. At Art and Poetry/ Sharing Between Generations, the elders will share poetry and art that resonates with their personal histories, which include memories of the Korean War, military dictatorships and their immigration journeys to New York. Then we will play their oral history excerpts, and give some visual art instruction and provide materials for all participants to create art based on the histories that are shared. Visual art and writing will be centered on expression, discussion and healing. The workshop will be bilingual, and led in both Korean and English. All materials will be provided, as well as light snacks and refreshments.
Date: Sat. August 30th, 4:00-6:30pm
Location: Nodutdol office, 53-22 Roosevelt Ave. 2nd floor, Woodside NY.
